This poultry house is more than a structure; it is a symbol of hope, resilience, and opportunity for child mothers and out-of-school young women in our community.
Constructed with support from @Girlsfirstfund as part of our economic empowerment initiative, the poultry project aims to equip vulnerable girls and young women with practical skills, sustainable income opportunities, and improved nutrition for themselves and their children. Through poultry keeping, beneficiaries will gain hands-on experience in animal care, business management, and financial responsibility while earning income to support their daily needs and reduce dependence.
For many of these young mothers, poverty, school dropout, and early pregnancy limited their opportunities. Through this initiative, they are gaining financial independence, confidence, and a second chance to rebuild their futures.
Every egg collected and every bird raised represents progress toward reducing vulnerability, improving household nutrition, and preventing harmful HIV risky behaviors including child marriage and exploitation.
When we invest in young women, we do more than fight poverty we restore dignity, strengthen families, and create lasting community change.
